Abstract:In order to strengthen the earthquake monitoring capability of Luzhou region in south Sichuan Province,15 seismic stations are newly built, plus two fixed stations, forming Luzhou seismic monitoring network. According to the national standard of “Provisions on Earthquake Magnitude GB7740—2017”,the magnitude monitoring capability of Luzhou seismic network is calculated. The accuracy and rationality of the calculation results of magnitude monitoring capability are verified by the statistical analysis of actual earthquake events. Based on the D-value theory, the epicenter errors and source depth errors of Luzhou seismic network in the study area are calculated. Compared with the positioning results of 8 synthetic events,it shows that the theoretical positioning error of the network is accurate within a certain range. For the area within the ML0.5 monitoring capacity, the theoretical positioning errors of the network for the earthquake events of ML 0.5 magnitude is quantitatively analyzed. It is reasonable and feasible to combine theoretical magnitude monitoring capability with theoretical positioning error calculation.
