Abstract:With the development of new observation techniques and theories, isotope geochemical method is playing an increasingly important role in earthquake monitoring and forecasting studies,in which the method can be used to determine the source of subsurface fluids,to study the characteristics of subsurface fluid circulation,to analyze the causes of earthquake precursor anomalies,to assess the geological tectonic activity, and to conduct earthquake forecasting studies. Isotope tracing technology can also be combined with deep-source fluid monitoring and geophysical surveys to reveal the relationship among earthquake genesis, fluids and earthquake sources. In addition, isotope geochemistry can construct fluid geochemical background characteristics of fracture zones, which can be used for the evaluation of seismic monitoring sites to reflect seismic effectiveness, improve the accuracy of earthquake monitoring and prediction, and provide technical support for the deployment of new earthquake monitoring sites and earthquake activity situation tracking. By summarizing and analyzing the methods, techniques and applications of isotopic analysis in seismic monitoring and forecasting at home and abroad,we try to get a relatively comprehensive understanding of the current situation and development trend of isotope geochemistry in seismic monitoring and forecasting applications.
