Abstract:The National Seismic Intensity Rapid Reporting and Early Earthquake Warning(EEW)project has entered the testing operation stage. Shandong Province,as a key early warning area, its EEW capability is directly related to the EEW effectiveness of Shandong and its neighboring regions. In this paper,we calculated the value of the monitoring capability of the Shandong Seismic Network based on the reliable noise data recorded by this network, and used the maximum probability peak displacement of the instruments as a background noise assessment index,to assess the monitoring and EEW capability of the Shandong Seismic Network. On this basis, considering the demand for early warning timeliness, the early warning minimum magnitude and first-reporting time of the seismic station network consisting of 125 velocimeters, the strong earthquake station network consisting of 152 accelerometers, the intensity station network consisting of 1,198 intensity meters, and their fusion networks in the Shandong seismic station network are systematically evaluated. The results show that the average monitoring capacity of the Shandong seismic network is ML0.4,the minimum value is up to ML-0.2,and the maximum value is ML1.1. The average values of the minimum magnitude, the warning time after the first trigger and the warning time after the earthquake are about ML2.2,3s and 5s,respectively,after the integration of the “three networks” of seismic,strong-earthquake and intensity stations. Our results suggests that the strategy of “three networks” fusion for early warning is good enough to meet the EEW requirements of “stable, accurate and fast”.
