新全球低本底噪声模型研究及中国地震台站本底比较分析

    地震台站的本底噪声水平在很大程度上决定了其信号检测能力,系统客观地评价本底噪声水平对于台站选址建设、优化台网布局及评估台网台站性能等具有重要意义。目前广泛使用的新全球低本底噪声模型NLNM是基于20世纪80~90年代全球75个台站的本底噪声数据计算得到的。本文沿用与NLNM模型建模时相同的噪声功率谱PSD及噪声概率密度函数PDF计算方法,获取相同台站的噪声样本,重新估计长时间跨度下全球本底噪声模型是否发生显著变化。重新计算结果表明,基于大致相同的台站,在0.1~10Hz频带,当前90%低噪声水平相较于NLNM平均提高4.2 dB,50%低噪声水平相较于NLNM平均提高6.7 dB。通过比对全球台站本底噪声水平与人口密度分布,利用为全球核实验监测而建设的国际监测系统(IMS)基本台站低噪声水平特性,筛选出位于远离海岸、人口稀疏的大陆内部的YKAB0、NV01、TX01等超低本底噪声浅井台站,分析低本底噪声台站的共性特征。最后,统计中国西北及东北地区台站噪声水平,并结合人口分布图,筛选出对远震微弱信号具有较强检测能力的潜在站点,为建设高灵敏地震监测台站提供依据。

    Abstract:

    The environmental background noise of a seismic station largely determines its signal detection capability. A systematic and objective assessment of noise levels is essential for station site selection and construction,as well as for network optimization and performance evaluation. the widely used New Low Noise Model(NLNM)was originally derived from data recorded at 75 stations worldwide during the 1980s and 1990s. In this study,the same noise power spectral density and noise probability density function methods used in the original modeling were employed to obtain noise samples from the same stations,thereby re-evaluating whether significant changes have occurred in the global background noise model over long time spans. the new results,based on the same set of stations,indicate that the current 90% noise level has increased by an average of 4.2dB in the 0.1~10Hz band,while the 50% noise level has increased by an average of 6.7dB. By comparing station noise levels with population distribution,and by considering the noise-reduction characteristics of borehole stations among the IMS primary stations established for global nuclear test monitoring,YKA0B,TX01,and NV01 were identified as ultra-low-noise stations located far from coastlines and sparsely populated areas. the common characteristics of these low-noise stations were then analyzed. Finally,statistical assessments of noise levels at stations in northwestern and northeastern China were conducted in combination with population distribution data,and the most suitable sites for detecting weak teleseismic signals were selected. This work provides a scientific basis for the construction of high-sensitivity seismic monitoring stations.
