The geomagnetic vertical intensity polarization method is an effective tool for extracting ULF magnetic disturbance anomalies. In recent years, this method has been widely applied in China, while the pulse amplitude approach has shown particular advantages in identifying unstable magnetic signals such as pulses. In this study, we apply a pulse amplitude-based vertical intensity polarization method for anomaly extraction. Results indicate that polarization values began to fluctuate significantly approximately 73 days before the earthquake, with amplitudes exceeding twice the root mean square deviation. The frequency of threshold exceedance coincided with the occurrence of high-value anomalies. Prior to the earthquake, the anomalous amplitudes exhibited alternating strong and weak phases, characterized by marked paroxysmal and clustered behavior. These findings provide a solid foundation for future case studies employing this method to investigate earthquake-related electromagnetic anomalies.
